New - Meade Deep Sky Imager III (Colour)
Priced at far less than comparible systems, the DSI III features the Sony large format 2/3" ExView HAD CCD image sensor. This all new 1.4 Megapixel chip increases dynamic range and dramatically reduces noise without the need for cooling.
By eliminating the need for cooling the DSI III is able to stack exposures for hours at a time. The onboard thermal monitoring sensors automatically match dark frames to ambient temperature meaning it is near impossible to take uncalibrated images.
To complete the package each DSI III colour comes complete with RGB filters, NASA developed Drizzle and Evisage software, this provides for time lapse photography, auto and manual exposure settings, stretch options, automatic dark subtraction and super fast no hassle focusing.
All these features combine and result in a camera that provides tremendous sensitivity, higher resolution, and wider fields.
The Meade DSI III offers increased resolution without interpolation.
A final image from the Meade DSI 3 is nearly 4 times larger than previous Meade DSI's.
The Meade DSI III’s electronics and sensor provide progressive scan in place of interlaced scan which produces outstanding planetary and lunar images.
The Meade DSI III includes a new version of EnvisageTM camera control software with new and enhanced features.
Optional 2x2 binning makes this already sensitive imager 4x more sensitive.
The Built in temperature sensor of the Meade DSI III CCD Camera provides fast and accurate auto-dark frame subtraction.
With the Meade DSI III, you can eliminate Alt-Az field rotation with simple 2-star selection.
The Meade Deep Sky Imager works on any telescope and can also be used as a sensitive and simple-to-use Autoguider on Meade AutoStar computerized telescopes.
