MAD Viewers is an informal group of people who want to observe. We meet once a month from autumn to spring (not in summer because it is too light for pub hours!).
Just turn up about 8pm (if the weather is OK). Members help each other with telescope set-up and location of objects. In addition, would-be astronomers have the opportunity to observe through a variety of our telescopes.
MAD Viewers have a website of their own www.madviewers.org with a monthly sky guide and details of meetings.
(Originally it was Mendip and Dorset Viewers, but anyone who wants to go out in the cold instead of staying in a nice warm pub must be nuts, so we now accept we are just MAD)
