The ETX Smart-Caddy provides eyepiece storage for six 1.25” eyepieces and the Meade Autostar handset right were you need them - on the scope. The unique folding design allows the Smart-Caddy to be as portable as the ETX.

 

Align-Mate Bubble Level & Compass eyepiece

The Align-Mate is probably our most popular “GOTO” telescope accessory with literally thousands sold. The Align-Mate solves your GOTO alignment worries and allows you to find due north and get a perfect level of your telescope tube in seconds. Simply pop the Align-Mate into the eyepiece holder and rotate the instrument until the “N” on the compass lines up with the telescope tube, make a small local adjustment for your true north deviation, then lock the azimuth axis and simply flip the Align-Mate over to level the tube perfectly every time. Lock the axis and it’s done - you are ready to hit enter and make a perfect alignment! Not only does the Align-Mate take all the fuss out of aligning your telescope but it makes a great dust plug too! NB: The Align-Mate is useful with all instruments but is not really suited for use with Newtonian reflector based scopes as the eyepiece focuser cannot easily be placed vertically on these types of instrument. The Align-Mate comprises a large bubble level screw mounted on one side of a solid precision turned aluminium billet, and at the other end is a recessed oil-damped compass.

The Flexi-Mate is one of our best selling accessories for Meade ETX telescopes. The Flexi-Mate has been developed to make your Meade ETX telescope easier and more enjoyable to use. When viewing overhead, Flexi-Mate allows full and accurate focussing – which would otherwise not be possible. The Flexi-Mate minimises the vibration normally caused by touching the telescope to focus it, making all focussing simple and precise, even with gloved hands on a cold night. It also speeds up refocusing after changing eyepieces, and greatly improves precise focussing for astro-photography. Simple to fit in two minutes – full instructions included.

Anti-Dewing Kit

!
This complete temperature-controllable anti-dew system is the best way to keep dew away from your telescope optics all night long. The kit comprises a controller with six temperature-control steps and a lens cell heating tape. The controller needs to be plugged in to a suitable 12V DC power supply available separately. The tape is plugged into the controller and is then simply attached around the front of the optical tube with an elasticated Velcro strap. When assembled the lead length is 2.8m (110”). The kit also includes a splitter to allow the use of an eyepiece dew heater (AC350 purchased separately). The controller can be plugged into the Portable Astro Power Station (see AC338) and at a typical low to mid-range heat setting the Power Station would keep your optics dew free for over 8 hours!

SOLAR FILTERS

ETX70 Solar Observation Filter

Discover the nearest star, our Sun, in stunning detail with your Meade ETX 70AT.
 

These solar filters have been designed to allow direct viewing or photography of broadband solar phenomena (sunspots, faculae etc). The filter is manufactured from glass and has a multi-layered metalised coating applied by a process of evaporation in a vacuum chamber. For safe and secure observation the glass filter is sealed in a high precision black anodised aluminium cell that screws directly onto the thread on the front of the telescope tube. For safety the glass filter is held in the cell with precision machined screws and not glue (or tape!) as in some competitor products. Solar observation can be dangerous - read enclosed instructions carefully.

The Deluxe Locator Plate has exactly the same function as the above Standard Locator Plate but with the added convenience of providing eyepiece storage around the base of the LX200. The Locator Plate is constructed of steel and is black-resin powder coated for durability. All fixings and instructions are included.
