CAPRICORN 70 (EQ1) REFRACTOR

!

This attactive blue-tube refractor is a good way to start in astronomy.   Its 70mm (2.75") aperture is

one of the traditional sizes for an adult's or teenager's first telescope and it has 36% more Light Gathering power than a 60mm.  The equatorial mount enables you to track objects easily.  At the same time it is small and light enough to be easily moved to different sites.

The Capricorn's focal ratio is 12.8 and this gives nice crisp images of the Moon and planets.  It comes with two multi-coated eyepieces -10mm and 25mm; and a 2x Barlow lens.  These give magnifications of x36, x72,  x90, x180.  (In astronomy a well-resolved image is more important than a huge amount of magnification.) It also has a 6x24 Finderscope and an aluminium tray for holding eyeieces.

Explorer-130PM was most impressed by the views revealed by the scope during tests Despite a phase of nearly 96 percent, the waxing gibbous Moon revealed a seemingly inexhaustible amount of fine detail The mechanical and optical specification delivered at this price break puts it into an essentially peerless position. Highly recommend
