The IS series fieldscopes are designed and built to provide high levels of performance & versatility in an amazingly compact & lightweight body. Available in 50mm and 60mm OG formats with the option of straight-through and 45 degree bodies, IS fieldscopes are produced using lightweight compound materials and feature high performance 4 element fully multi-coated objectives, BK7 fully multi-coated prisms and internal focusing.

Just 20cm long and weighing 528g the IS50 series redefines the meaning of the word 'compact'. It has been designed and engineered to be both a competent fieldscope in its own right as well as a brilliant Travelscope for the space conscious birdwatcher, shooter or archer.

The IS 50 is the only 'scope in it's class to offer a Tele-photo-adapter option and interchangeable eyepieces, including two dedicated IS long eyerelief lenses -perfect for viewing with spectacles. Compatibility with all Opticron HR and HDF eyepieces means relatively high performance
viewing is attainable at magnifications of up to 60x.* A spin off of this eyepiece compatibility means the IS50 can also be purchased as a 'body only' for existing Opticron fieldscope users. Available in straight-through and 45 degree angled bodies, other features of the IS 50 include:

IS EYEPIECES

Dedicated long eye-relief eyepieces are the best overall choice for your first eyepiece.  They screw into the telescope body.

With an IS50, this gives 15-45x  magnification,  and a 37-17  field.  (You can see a 37m object at 1000m, down to a 17m object at 1000m.)

With an IS60, this gives 18-54x, with a 31-15 field.
